AN AUTHENTIC FRENCH BISTRO IN THE ALGARVE

At Diplomatico, our Chef is cooking for you a selection of traditional french bistro dishes with special care to the quality of the products and the seasonal offererings. Our menu is inspired from the classics of French bistro cuisine and thoughtfully revisited to take advantage of what the Algarve has to offer. A selective menu to insure quality and consistancy.

 

All our dishes are entirely homemade from the cover to desserts.

I remember very clearly the day my husband and I decided to end our careers, open a restaurant and change our lives for the best. It feels like ages now, although it did not happen that long ago, in august 2019. 

We went down to Quarteira, this small town at the tip of the Algarve, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, over which the delightful Portuguese peacefulness and a magnificent clear sky were hovering all year long. Hervé and I had fallen in love with this part of the world a few years ago and we knew that whatever it was we were seeking for in this wild project of ours, it must have been hidden there. Then we found the Diplomatico, a restaurant settled in an old moradia with terracotta tiles and golden vaults. This beautiful stone masonry was concealed in the dark by a few unused tables and, at the back, a forlorn outdoors area where grew bright coral hibiscus interwound in a gorgeous bougainvillea. We new we had found our place. A place where we could welcome our guests like our friends for a different experience in the Algarve.
